Steve Hammersly’s program on SunFM 91.3 Sonoma harkens back to the golden age of FM rock radio, featuring not a random mix of hits but a thoughtful selection of carefully chosen sets of songs by diverse artists, woven together by a common thread of meaning or musical style. Steve offers interesting background information on featured songs, and sets or entire shows are tied in to milestones in a musician’s life or to other notable events.
Steve Hammersly is a northern California native, born and raised in Marin and schooled at Berkeley. He lived in San Francisco for 20 years before settling his family in Sonoma in 1995. A musician as well as a music lover, Steve Hammersly has played bass in several different bands throughout the years.
